Everything You Need to design Smarter

Unlock the power of AI to create unique and original surface pattern designs. Patternbulkโ€™s AI tools allow you to input image for reference, which the AI then uses to generate innovative designs tailored to your specifications, whether for fashion, home decor, or digital media.

Creativity Level

Upload your design or artwork and explore how different creativity levels transform it. The higher the creativity value, the more artistic freedom and stylization the AI applies to your image.

How it works:
  • 1. Upload your image: Click โ€œUpload Imageโ€ and select your file to start.
  • 2. Choose a creativity level: Use the slider or quick-select buttons (C5, C10, C15, C20) to preview different styles.
  • 3. Compare results: Drag the comparison slider to see before-and-after changes in real time.
What the levels mean:
  • Orig / C0: Minimal change โ€” preserves your original image with light enhancement.
  • C5โ€“C10: Gentle creativity โ€” subtle improvements in color, texture, and contrast.
  • C15โ€“C20: Enhanced stylization โ€” adds artistic touches and richer visual effects.
  • 25+ (Experimental): Bold, abstract transformations for unique, imaginative results.
Tips for best results:
  • Start with lower levels for realistic outcomes; raise creativity for more stylized designs.
  • Use high-quality source images for the best AI results.
  • Compare multiple levels to find the perfect balance of creativity and detail.

Reference Locked Mode

When Reference Lock is enabled, the AI keeps your original image as the fixed reference point. This means your uploaded artwork wonโ€™t change in structure โ€” instead, creativity is added around it, enhancing color, shading, or texture without altering the composition.

How it works:
  • 1. Enable Reference Lock: Toggle the โ€œLock Referenceโ€ option before generating results.
  • 2. Upload your base design: The uploaded image becomes the anchor โ€” AI enhancements will respect its layout and shapes.
  • 3. Adjust creativity: Changing creativity levels now adds visual variety (color, brush style, shading) while keeping your original form untouched.
When to use it:
  • When you want consistent motif outlines but want to test color or pattern variations.
  • When fine-tuning artwork for print or embroidery that must stay aligned with a fixed template.
  • When using AI for subtle enhancements rather than full transformations.
Example results:
  • Unlocked mode: AI may reinterpret shapes, adjust composition, or create new artistic layouts.
  • Reference Locked: Base design remains identical โ€” only texture, color, or lighting evolves.
Tip: Combine โ€œReference Lockedโ€ with moderate creativity (C10โ€“C15) for natural-looking improvements that preserve your original artworkโ€™s geometry.

High Quality (Detail Boost)

Toggle High Quality to increase output resolution and reveal finer texture, edge, and brush details. This produces more production-ready images (better for prints and close-up previews) but may increase file size and processing time.

How it works:
  • 1. Upload your image: Click โ€œUpload Imageโ€ and choose a high-resolution source for best results.
  • 2. Turn on High Quality: The system will use higher-detail rendering and preserve finer textures.
  • 3. Select creativity & style: Combine High Quality with your chosen style (watercolor, vector, batik, etc.) and preview the result.
  • 4. Compare & export: Use the before/after slider to inspect alignment and detail before downloading.
What High Quality changes:
  • Increases output resolution and adds finer detail to edges, textures and small features.
  • May alter color blending slightly to improve perceived fidelity and contrast.
  • Produces larger files and may take longer to generate if processed server-side.
Best practices & tips:
  • Use for print: Enable High Quality when exporting for print, embroidery, or close-up product mockups.
  • Start low, then raise: Try C5/C10 first for subtle changes, then enable High Quality for final exports.
  • Prefer high-res sources: Originals at 2โ€“4ร— the desired output pixel size give the best results.
  • Combine with Reference Lock: Keep composition fixed while adding texture/detail on top when precision matters.
  • Preview before export: Always check the comparison slider at 100% zoom (if available) for edge and pattern fidelity.
Note: High Quality improves visual detail but increases processing and file size. If you only need quick drafts, leave it off; enable it for final assets. Keyboard-accessible controls and ARIA labels are provided to ensure everyone can use these features.

Style Selection

Choose an artistic style (for example: watercolor, vector, batik, or line-art) to change the visual finish of your design. Use High Quality to add finer detail and higher output resolution โ€” ideal for print or close-up previews. When Reference Lock is enabled, the AI preserves the original composition while applying the chosen style around it.

How to use:
  • 1. Pick a style: Open the style menu and select the finish you want (watercolor, vector, shading, etc.).
  • 2. Toggle High Quality (optional): Turn on High Quality to increase resolution and fine detail.
  • 3. Select creativity level: Use the C5/C10/C15/C20 buttons to preview different strengths of transformation.
  • 4. Compare: Use the before/after slider to check alignment, color, and texture before exporting.
When to use each option:
  • Styles: Choose watercolor or gouache for painterly looks, vector for clean, scalable graphics, and batik/ikat for traditional textile patterns.
  • High Quality: Use for print-ready exports or when fine texture and crisp edges matter.
  • Reference Locked: Use when you must preserve exact layout/shape (embroidery templates, repeats, or print plates).
Examples & expectations:
  • Unlocked + Vector: AI may reinterpret shapes and composition to match the vector aesthetic.
  • Locked + Watercolor: Base shapes remain unchanged while watercolor washes and textures are applied on top.
Note: Not every style/variant combo may be pre-generated. If a particular combination is unavailable, the system will either fall back to the nearest match or queue a server-side generation (if enabled). Try a few styles with High Quality enabled to compare final detail levels.
